Small Ding Plate with Molded Lion

Diameter: 14cm

 

A small steep sided plate of porcelaineous stoneware with a viscous ivory colored glaze covering all but the edge of the rim.  The interior is decorated with a finely impressed dense pattern of a strolling lion chasing a ribboned ball set within acircular key-fret and wave pattern.  The inside cavetto is decorated with four strolling dragons set within two concentric key-fret rings.  The outside is undecorated and the otherwise flat bottom has a very shallow foot rim.
